WASHINGTON, D.C. – Severac Cities across the United States are ramping up security measures following the U.S. military’s June 21 airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The strikes, which targeted key sites at Isfahan, Fordow, and Natanz, have prompted local authorities to issue advisories and deploy additional law enforcement personnel, particularly around sensitive locations.

While authorities maintain that no specific threats have been identified in any of the cities, officials are urging the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activity as the geopolitical situation unfolds.

In New York City, the NYPD announced heightened security across religious, cultural, and diplomatic sites. “We’re tracking the situation unfolding in Iran,” the department said in a statement posted on X. “Out of an abundance of caution, we’re deploying additional resources… and coordinating with our federal partners. We’ll continue to monitor for any potential impact to NYC.”

On the West Coast, the Los Angeles Police Department also responded with stepped-up patrols. “Out of an abundance of caution,” the LAPD said, it was increasing security around places of worship and community centers while continuing to monitor any developments.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass reassured residents in a public statement: “There are no known credible threats at this time. LAPD is stepping up patrols near places of worship, community gathering spaces and other sensitive sites.”

In Washington, D.C., police emphasized vigilance and coordination with other agencies. “The Metropolitan Police Department is closely monitoring the events in Iran,” a statement read. “We are actively coordinating with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners… to help safeguard residents, businesses, and visitors.” The advisory noted that no threats to the District had been identified but confirmed an “increased presence at religious institutions.”
